The Glide Iron is designed to ride on a special trolley with a water tank. The water tank, containing a water softening/ion exchange filter, converts hard water into soft water to prevent stone build up in the inner aparts of the iron. The water is gravity fed and thus there is no pump to go bad. Its solid state heat control maintains temperature to plus or minus 2 degrees Celsius and is guaranteed for 2 years.

It is low pressure which is safer and allows the use of light and flexible hose. The hose can be attached to the iron's line cord and when the iron is not used, all--the iron, the cord and hose--is above the table so neither the iron nor the cord interfere with work on the table. The electric supply cord is neatly festooned along the track above the table. The Glide Iron is always out of the way and  at the same time it is always at hand for use.
